Period Open For Jackson-35 Culvert Repair
Chillicothe (Friday, August 18, 2017) – As
part of the Ohio Department of Transportation – District 9’s Planning &
Engineering Department, the district’s Environmental Office is seeking public
input for an erosion and culvert repair project on U.S. Route 35 in Jackson County.
JAC-35-25.20 (PID: 100986) – The
proposed project involves stabilizing and restoring Indian Creek along U.S.
35, between County Road 5 (Moriah Road) and Township Road 124 (Plum Road) in Madison
Township. Among other features, the project will include channel
relocation and reconstruction; construction of in-stream structures; construction
of two drilled shaft retaining walls between Indian Creek and U.S. 35; and
the rehabilitation of a damaged culvert.
No new or additional right of way will be required for the
project, and no homes or businesses will be removed as a result. A closure of
the route during construction is not anticipated; however, the roadway may be
subject to short-term periods of closure or single-lane restrictions to
complete all or portions of the project.
