ODOT Seeking Comments for Upcoming Project
Jackson County – Richland Furnace State Forest (PID: 93153) – It is proposed to replace the culvert over the unnamed tributary of Pigeon Creek at the entrance to the parking lot for the Richland Furnace State Forest. The existing culvert is a six-foot corrugated metal pipe with a length of 35 feet, and it will be replaced with a similar sized structure. The project is located in a rural area in Washington Township of Jackson County.
No new right of way will be required for any of this project, and no homes or businesses will be removed as a result of the project. Some small trees and bushes will be removed; however, none of the trees have the habitat for the federally endangered Indiana Bat.
Issues the public may wish to comment on include the effect on local residents, air quality, the local economy, and historic or cultural resources. Written comments should be submitted by September 27, 2012, or the deadline date that is posted on the web site, to:
