Comment Period Open For Jackson County Projects
(Thursday, August 2, 2018) – As part of the Ohio Department of
Transportation – District 9’s Planning Department, the district’s
Environmental Office is seeking public input for a pair of bridge replacement
projects in Jackson County.
(PID: 98668) – The proposed project is to
replace the structure that is located over North Pigeon Creek at the 8.73-mile
marker on County Road 29 (Raysville Road), near the junction with Township
Road 208 (Borland Road) and just south of S.R. 327 in Jackson Township. Construction
will require approximately 0.15 acres of permanent right of way; however, no
homes or businesses will be removed as a result of the project.
(PID: 97347) – The proposed project is to
replace the structure located at the 2.33-mile marker over Little Salt Creek on
Township Road 221 (Roberts Road), just south of the route’s junction with U.S.
35 in Jackson Township. The project will require approximately 0.10 acres of
permanent right of way and 0.20 acres of temporary right of way; however, no
homes or businesses will be removed as a result of this project.
A separate contract for
each project is scheduled to be awarded in the summer of 2019, and although a
full closure of either route is not anticipated, short-term, intermittent
periods of closure may be needed during some phases of construction.
