Comment Period Open For Lawrence-140 Bridge Project
Chillicothe (Friday, February 26, 2016) – As part of the Ohio Department of Transportation – District 9’s Planning & Engineering Department, the district’s Environmental Office is seeking public input on the following bridge rehabilitation project on state Route 140 in Lawrence County.
LAW-140-0.81 (PID: 91579) – It is proposed to rehabilitate the bridge over Hales Creek on S.R. 140 in Washington Township. The project site is situated between the Jackson and Scioto County lines, and construction includes replacing the bridge’s concrete deck and T-beam. No new right of way will be required for construction, and no homes or businesses will be removed as a result; however, three trees with habitat for the federally endangered Indiana bat and the federally threatened northern long-eared bat will be removed.
Issues the public may wish to comment on include the effect on local residents, air quality, the local economy, and historic or cultural resources. Written comments should be submitted by March 11, 2016, or the deadline date that is posted on the web site, to:
