Comment Period Open For Lawrence-217 Project
Chillicothe (Wednesday, August 17, 2016) – As part of the Ohio Department of Transportation – District 9’s Planning & Engineering Department, the district’s Environmental Office is seeking public input on a slide repair project in Lawrence County.
LAW-217-5.92 (PID: 97592) – It is proposed to correct landslide damage on state Route 217 with a drilled shaft retaining wall, guardrail installation and embankment work. The project site is situated between the intersections of S.R. 378 in the Willow Wood area of Windsor Township. The project will require approximately 0.321 acres of permanent right of way; however, no homes or businesses will be removed as a result.
It is expected to be awarded in the summer of 2017, and a road closure may be necessary to complete the project. Additional information, including a complete description, maps and plans sheets, is available online at www.dot.state.oh.us/districts/D09/Pages/Public-Involvement-Process.aspx.
Issues the public may wish to comment on include the effect on local residents, air quality, the local economy, and historic or cultural resources. Written comments should be submitted by August 31, 2016, or the deadline date that is posted on the web site, to:
