Comment Period Open For Proposed PIK-552 Project
Chillicothe (Tuesday, September 8, 2015) – As part of the Ohio Department of Transportation – District 9’s Planning & Engineering Department, the district’s Environmental Office is seeking public input on the following project on state Route 552 in Pike County.
PIK-552-0.00 (PID: 97243) – It is proposed to resurface 1.75 miles of S.R. 552, as well as replace two deficient culverts located at the 0.50 and the 0.59-mile markers, which are situated between the intersections of Sheridan Lane. The project is located within a residential area in Pee Pee Township, adjacent to Lake White State Park, and it will require approximately 0.011 acres of permanent right of way; however, no homes or businesses will be removed by the project. In addition, no trees with habitat for the federally endangered Indiana bat or the federally threatened northern long eared bat will be removed.
Issues the public may wish to comment on include the effect on local residents, air quality, the local economy, and historic or cultural resources. Written comments should be submitted by September 22, 2015, or the deadline date that is posted on the web site, to:
