Comment Period Open For Bridge Replacement Project
Highland County – HIG-247-11.07 (PID: 88720)  The proposed construction project is to replace the bridge situated over Rocky Fork Creek and located at the 11.07-mile marker, just south of the city of Hillsboro’s corporation limit and north of Township Road 268 (Green Road) in Liberty Township.
The existing bridge is a three-span, continuous, steel beams with a concrete slab, and currently the project has four alternatives for the replacement of the structure. No new right of way will be required, and no homes or businesses will be removed as a result of the project. Some small trees and brushes will be removed for roadway reconstruction, but none of these have habitat for the endangered Indiana Bat.
Additional information regarding this project, including a complete description, maps and plans sheets, is available online at http://www.dot.state.oh.us/districts/D09/Pages/Public-Involvement-Process.aspx. Issues the public may wish to comment on include the effect on local residents, air quality, the local economy, and historic or cultural resources.
