Comment Period Open For Scioto-140 Bridge Replacement
Chillicothe (Wednesday, January 25, 2017) – As part of the Ohio Department of Transportation – District 9’s Planning & Engineering Department, the district’s Environmental Office is seeking public input on a bridge replacement project in Scioto County.
SCI-140-15.07 (PID: 91553) – It is proposed to replace the structure over Jackson Fork on S.R. 140 with a single-span concrete slab bridge. The project site is located at the 15.07-mile marker immediately west of T.R. 287 (Sugar Camp Jackson Fork Road), between T.R. 289 (Brady Creek Road) and T.R. 336 (New Globe Road) in Bloom Township.
The project will require approximately 0.110 acres of permanent right of way; however, no homes or businesses will be removed as a result of this project. A contract is anticipated to be awarded in the spring of 2018, and closure of the roadway may be necessary to complete the project. Additional information, including a complete description, maps and plans sheets, is available online at www.dot.state.oh.us/districts/D09/Pages/Public-Involvement-Process.aspx.
Issues the public may wish to comment on include the effect on local residents, air quality, the local economy, and historic or cultural resources. Written comments should be submitted by February 8, 2017, or the deadline date that is posted on the web site, to:
