Comment Period Open For Scioto County Culvert Replacements
Chillicothe (Tuesday, April 18, 2017) – As part of the Ohio Department of Transportation – District 9’s Planning & Engineering Department, the district’s Environmental Office is seeking public input on a pair of culvert replacements in Scioto County.
SCI-104-8.15/8.26 (PID: 103399) – It is proposed to replace the structures located on state Route 104 that are located at the 8.15- and the 8.26-mile markers, between T.R. 371 (Sheep Ranch Hollow Road) and T.R. 142 (McDermott Rushtown Road), approximately 1.5 miles north of the junction with S.R. 73 in Rush Township. The existing culvert located at the 8.15-mile marker is a two-foot clay pipe, and the culvert at the 8.26-mile marker is a four-foot corrugated metal pipe; both will be replaced with concrete pipes.
The project will require approximately 0.047 acres of permanent and 0.143 acres of temporary right of way; however, no homes or businesses will be removed as a result. Currently, a road closure is not required, but short-term closures may be necessary to complete all or portions of the project.
