Comment Period Open For U.S. 52 Culvert
(Thursday, March 08, 2018) – As part of the Ohio Department of
Transportation – District 9’s Planning Department, the district’s
Environmental Office is seeking public input for a culvert rehabilitation project
on U.S. Route 52 in Scioto County.
(PID: 107618) – It is proposed to rehabilitate
a structure that is located between the S.R. 522 and S.R. 253 interchanges in
Green Township of Scioto County. The existing structure is an 84-inch
corrugated metal pipe, and it will be lined with a 48-inch pipe linter. The
project also includes the installation of rock channel protection (RCP) at
the outlet of the structure.
The project will not require
any new right of way, and no homes or businesses will be removed as a result
of the project. A contract is scheduled to be awarded in the summer of 2018, and
although a closure of the route will not be necessary, short-term closures
and/or lane restrictions may be in effect during construction.
