Construction Scheduled To Start On S.R. 217
Chillicothe (Monday, August 8, 2016) – Construction for a slide repair project on state Route 217 in Lawrence County will get under way soon, with traffic restrictions going into effect next week.
Crews from DGM, Incorporated will be repairing a landslide area along the shoulder of the eastbound lane at the route’s 9.75-mile marker. The project site is located between County Road 2 (Greasy Ridge Road) and Township Road 228 (Capper Ridge Road), approximately one mile west of S.R. 775, and construction includes repairing the slide with a drilled shaft retaining wall, as well as pavement and guardrail repairs.
Work is scheduled to begin Monday, August 15, and throughout the project, S.R. 217 will be reduced to one lane, and traffic will be maintained by temporary signals.
DGM, Inc. was awarded a contract in the amount of $451,552 to complete the project, and all work is anticipated to be finished in early fall.
