Set To Begin For Bridge Replacement On S.R. 141
Chillicothe (Wednesday, June 7,
2017) – Contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation will be replacing
a structure on state Route 141 in Lawrence County during the coming weeks, with
construction getting under way next week.
Crews from Shelly & Sands, Inc. will be replacing a bridge
over Long Creek, between Township Road 134 (Eph Osborg Road) and S.R. 775
near Wilgus. The existing single-span box beam structure will be replaced with a
precast, composite box beam on capped pile abutments, and the project also
includes realigning approximately 100 feet of the Brushy Branch stream to
prevent erosion of the embankment along S.R. 141.
Construction is scheduled to begin Monday, June
12, and throughout the project, traffic will be maintained in one, 10-foot
lane with temporary traffic signals.
Shelly & Sands was awarded a contract in the amount of $895,951
to complete the project, and all work is anticipated to be finished in late summer.
