Construction Set To Begin On Scioto-140
Dual Bridge Replacement Will Get Under Way Next Week
Chillicothe (Saturday, March 28, 2015) – As the Ohio Department of Transportation’s 2015 construction season gets under way, so does a dual bridge replacement project on state Route 140 in Scioto County.
Crews from Boone Coleman Construction will be replacing a pair of bridges located at the 9.22 and the 9.48-mile markers, approximately one mile west of South Webster. The first project site is situated immediately west of County Road 17 (Frederick Road), while the second bridge is located just east of Township Road 294 (Railroad Hollow Road).
Construction is set to begin the week of March 20, and throughout the project, traffic on S.R. 140 will be maintained in one, 11-foot lane with the use of temporary traffic signals and by flaggers. Frederick Road, however, will be subject to a 60-day closure at its junction with S.R. 140. While the route is closed, motorists will be detoured via T.R. 295 (Haines Road) and C.R. 12 (Bennett Schoolhouse Road).
Boone Coleman of West Portsmouth, Ohio, was awarded a contract for approximately $808,904 to replace both structures, and the anticipated completion for all work is mid-fall.
