Construction Work Ahead For Scioto-73, 335
Chillicothe (Sunday, February 26, 2017) – A pair of culvert replacement projects will get under way in Scioto County this week, as contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation begin work on state routes 73 and 335.
On Wednesday, March 1, construction will begin on S.R. 73, where crews from Allard Excavation will reduce the route to one lane at the 11.73-mile marker, immediately west of County Road 41 (Big Spruce-Little Bear Road), for a culvert replacement project.
The project site is situated approximately four miles east of Otway, and throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in one lane with temporary signals. Allard Excavation was awarded a contract for approximately $402,803 to complete the project, and all work is anticipated to be completed in early summer.
Also on March 1, crews from DGM, Incorporated will begin work on S.R. 335 to replace a culvert that is located between T.R. 206 (Bull Run Road) and C.R. 204 (Cathey Road), approximately 2.5 miles south of the Pike County line. During most of the project, S.R. 335 will be reduced to one lane, and traffic will be maintained with temporary signals.
DGM was awarded a contract for approximately $381,000 to replace the culvert, and the project is scheduled to be completed by the end of June.
With a busy construction and maintenance season ahead, motorists are reminded of the need for additional caution when traveling through these and other work zones.
