Construction under way on U.S. 52, 68 in Brown County
Brown-763 Closed For Slip Repair
Chillicothe (Wednesday, April 8, 2015) – As part of the Ohio Department of Transportation – District 9’s 2015 construction season, a resurfacing project is under way on two primary routes in Brown County.
Crews from the Shelly Company will be paving U.S. Route 52 from the western corporation limit of Higginsport to just east of Township Road 255 (Pisgah Hill Road), and they will be paving U.S. 68 from U.S. 50 in Fayetteville to the Clinton County line.
With construction beginning this week, motorists will encounter lane restrictions on either route as traffic will be reduced to one lane and maintained by flaggers when crews are at work during daytime, business hours. ODOT reminds motorists of the need for additional caution when traveling through these and other work zones.
The Shelly Company, of Thornville, Ohio was awarded a contract in the amount of approximately $2.93 million to resurface both routes, and all work is anticipated to be completed in early summer.
