Contractors Slated To Begin S.R. 139 Bridge Replacement
Chillicothe (Friday, March 08, 2013) – Contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation are set to begin a bridge replacement project on state Route 139 in Jackson County.
According to ODOT - District 9 Deputy Director Vaughn Wilson, crews from BUDS, Incorporated will close S.R. 139 at the 12.28-mile marker on Monday, March 18, to replace the existing structure with a four-sided, pre-cast concrete box culvert.
The project site is located between S.R. 32 and T.R. 274 (Chestnut Grove Road), south of Jackson, and construction also includes building the necessary approach work. While the route is closed, traffic will be detoured by way of S.R. 32, S.R. 93 and S.R. 279.
BUDS, Inc. of Nashport, Ohio, was awarded a contract for approximately $300,000 to replace the bridge, and all work is anticipated to be completed by mid-summer.
