Road Closures To Be Imparted For Scioto-140 Project
Chillicothe (Thursday, June 5, 2014) – As part of a safety improvement project on
state Route 140 in Scioto County, two local roads will be closed next week.
Monday, June 9, County Road 14 (Allegheny Hill Road) and C.R. 13 (Gephart Road)
will be closed at their junction with S.R. 140, approximately five miles
north of Portsmouth, where construction is under way to correct the alignment
and curve of S.R. 140.
While Allegheny Hill
and Gephart roads will be closed, S.R. 140 traffic will be maintained in one,
10-foot lane with temporary signals. Motorists traveling Allegheny Hill and
Gephart roads will have access to both routes via their junction with S.R.
140 at the opposite ends of the work zone.
Allard Excavation was
awarded a contract in the amount of $1.098 million to complete the project, and
all work is scheduled to be completed in mid-fall.
