Prepping For Beam Installation On Lawrence-7
Be Closed During Overnight Hours
Chillicothe (Friday, September 05, 2014) – A bridge replacement project on
state Route 7 in Lawrence County is moving into the next phase of
construction as contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation prepare
to set new beams next week.
S.R. 7 is reduced to one lane at the Indian Guyan Creek bridge, west of
Proctorville, where crews from Complete General Construction are replacing
and widening the existing three-span continuous steel girder structure with a
pre-stressed, reinforced concrete deck and substructure.
Thursday and Friday, September 11 and 12, S.R. 7 will be closed during the
evening and overnight hours for the contractors to erect concrete I-beams for
the new bridge. The closure will go into effect at 6 p.m. each evening and
continue until 5 a.m. the following morning.
the route is closed, motorists will be detoured via S.R. 775, S.R. 217 and
S.R. 243. At all other times during construction, traffic is being maintained
in one lane with the use of temporary traffic signals.
General was awarded a contract for approximately $2.85 million, and all work
is anticipated to be completed in late fall.
