Crews Working On Morris Lane Tomorrow
Roadway subject to temporary flagging operations throughout the day
Chillicothe (Thursday, August 18, 2016) – Temporary, intermittent restrictions will be imparted on County Road 54 (Morris Lane) tomorrow as part of the Southern Ohio Veterans Memorial Highway construction project.
On Friday, August 19, crews for the Portsmouth Joint Venture (PJV) will be installing concrete barrier wall along the shoulder of Morris Lane, between C.R. 184 (Flatwood-Fallen Timber Road) and Township Road 182 (Blue Run Township Road).
Crews will be working from approximately 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., and traffic will be maintained in one lane by flaggers throughout the day. Motorists, however, are advised that they may encounter short-term periods of delay at any time during operations.
In addition to this, the contractors will be installing a culvert on C.R. 29 (Blue Run Road) next week, requiring a two-day closure of the route.
Blue Run Road will be closed Tuesday, August 23, between T.R. 381 (Flowers-Ison Road) and T.R. 182 (Blue Run Township Road). The closure will go into effect at 7 a.m. Tuesday and continue until approximately 7 a.m. Thursday, August 25.
While the route is closed, motorists will be detoured locally via C.R. 28 (Lucasville-Minford Road) and Morris Lane.
In the spirit of a public-private partnership, the Ohio Department of Transportation and the Portsmouth Gateway Group are constructing the new state Route 823, a 16-mile, four-lane, limited access highway from U.S. 23 at Lucasville to U.S. 52 at Sciotoville in Scioto County. The Southern Ohio Veterans Memorial Highway is the department’s first P3 project and the largest, modern earthwork project to be constructed in the state’s history.
