District 9 Crews Continue Treating Highways For Snow
Chillicothe - Crews from the Ohio Department of Transportation District 9 highway maintenance facilities continue their efforts this morning to combat snow from southern Ohio’s highways.
Conditions throughout the area vary, from mostly clear and wet pavement along U.S. Route 52 in Lawrence County, where there has been less precipitation along the Ohio River, to snow covered secondary routes in Highland County, where there has been more snow. The driving lanes of the district’s four-lane routes are mostly clear, with the passing lanes still snow covered. Other primary routes in the area are becoming clear or are partly snow covered, although secondary routes are mostly snow covered.
While the District 9 crews will continue to treat and plow the highways throughout this winter storm, motorists are advised to exercise additional caution, allowing additional time to arrive at their destinations and maintaining a safe traveling distance when driving behind other vehicles on the roads.
