Culvert Project Set To Begin On S.R. 763
Route to be closed next week
Chillicothe (Monday, May 4, 2015) – Contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation are preparing for a culvert replacement project on state Route 763 in Brown County, with construction getting under way next week.
Crews from Coopers Excavating will be replacing a culvert located at the 11.92-mile marker on S.R. 763, approximately three-quarters of a mile south of the route’s junction with S.R. 353 and just north of Township Road 221 (W. Fork Road). Construction includes replacing the existing corrugated metal arch structure that is over a tributary to West Fork Eagle Creek with a three-sided, pre-cast concrete box culvert.
Construction is scheduled to begin Monday, May 11, and the route will be closed to traffic during most of the project. While it is closed, motorists will be detoured by way of S.R. 41 and S.R. 125 in Adams County.
Coopers Excavating of Winchester, Ohio was awarded a contract in the amount of $202,825 to replace the bridge, and all work is expected to be completed by mid-summer.
