Culvert Replacement Project Set For Pike-220
Daytime Closures Next Week
Chillicothe (Friday, May 03, 2013) – In preparation for a resurfacing project this summer, a project to replace three deteriorated culverts on state Route 220 in Pike County has been scheduled next week.
S.R. 220 will be subject to daytime-only closure May 6 through 8 as crews from the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Pike County Highway Maintenance Facility replace three pipes situated between County Road 51 (River Road) and Township Road 501 (Marcus Run Road), approximately two miles east of Waverly.
Weather permitting, the route will be closed at the 11.08-mile marker on Monday, May 6, during daytime, business hours for crews to replace the first culvert. The route will be closed again on Tuesday, May 7, at the 11.30-mile marker and again on Wednesday, May 8, at the 11.41-mile marker
The daily closures will be in effect between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. each day, and the route will be open to evening and overnight travel.
Completion of each day’s work and the schedule will be contingent upon the weather, and while the route is closed, motorists will be detoured by way of U.S. 23 at Waverly and S.R. 32 at Piketon.
