Replacement Project Under Way On Adams-247
Route To Be Closed Today & Tuesday
Chillicothe (Monday, May 22, 2017) – The first of two culvert
replacement projects on state Route 247 in Adams County is under way, and the
route is now closed at the 12.32-mile marker.
Crews from the Ohio Department of
Transportation’s Adams County facility have closed S.R. 247 between County
Road 23 (Cross Road) and Township Road 39 (Kimberly Road), midway between
West Union and S.R. 32 at Seaman, to replace a deteriorated pipe.
The route was also scheduled for closure
on Wednesday, May 24, between C.R. 11 (Coon Hill/Paul Copas Road) and T.R. 86
(Tom Brown Road) for the second culvert replacement. However, due to this
week’s weather forecast, the maintenance crews will return to S.R. 247 and
close the route Tuesday, May 23.
The route will be closed from approximately
8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day, and while it is closed, motorists will be detoured
by way of S.R.
136 and S.R. 137.
