Culvert Replacement Project Wraps Up
S.R. 125 At Georgetown Reopening Today
Chillicothe (Wednesday, July 27, 2011) – A culvert replacement project on state Route 125 in Brown County is nearing completion, and the route will reopen to traffic this afternoon, one day ahead of schedule.
Working in conjunction with the village of Georgetown, maintenance forces from the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Brown County facility have replaced two deteriorated culverts located between Township Road 268 (Dr. Faul Road) and Race Street, near Georgetown’s eastern corporation limit.
Although the project was scheduled to continue through the end of the business day Thursday, July 28, ODOT crews have worked to expedite the project, and the route will be open to traffic by 4 p.m. today, July 27.
“By closing the route to all traffic this week, our crews were able to make tremendous progress, and they have been working very hard to complete the project in advance of the scheduled timeline,” said Barry Daniels, transportation administrator of ODOT’s Brown County garage.
