Chillicothe (Monday, May 15, 2017) – A pair of culvert replacement projects has been scheduled for state Route 247 in Adams County next week, requiring two, single-day closures of the route.
Weather permitting, crews from the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Adams County facility will close S.R. 247 on Monday, May 22, to replace a deteriorated culvert at the 12.32-mile marker. The project site is located between County Road 23 (Cross Road) and Township Road 39 (Kimberly Road), midway between West Union and S.R. 32 at Seaman.
Then, on Wednesday, May 24, maintenance forces will return to S.R. 247 and close it at the 13.00-mile marker for a second culvert replacement project. This culvert is located between C.R. 11 (Coon Hill/Paul Copas Road) and T.R. 86 (Tom Brown Road), midway between West Union and Seaman as well.
The route will be closed from approximately 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day, and while it is closed, motorists will be detoured by way of S.R. 136 and S.R. 137.
