Culvert Replacement Set To Begin Ross-138
Route to be closed for 45 days effective next week
Chillicothe (Tuesday, July 5, 2016) – Contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation are scheduled to begin a preservation project in Ross County, with a culvert replacement on state Route 138.
Crews from DGM Incorporated will be replacing a culvert located at the 6.24-mile marker, between Township Road 72 (Waugh Road) and County Road 92 (Ragged Ridge Road), approximately 5.5 miles south of the U.S. 35 interchange. Situated over Little Creek, the existing 96-inch corrugated metal culvert will be replaced with an 84-inch conduit and full height headwalls.
Construction is scheduled to begin Monday, July 11, and the route will be closed to traffic for up to 45 days. While S.R. 138 is closed, motorists will be detoured by way of U.S. 35, S.R. 753, S.R. 41 and S.R. 28 through Fayette and Highland counties.
DGM Inc. of Beaver, Ohio, was awarded a contract for approximately $342,872 to replace the culvert, and all work is scheduled to be completed in late summer.
