Culvert Replacements Scheduled At S.R. 131-Baker Road Intersection
Baker Road to be closed next week
Chillicothe (Saturday, May 21, 2016) - Crews from the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Highland County Highway Maintenance Facility have been scheduled to replace a pair of culverts situated off state Route 131 next week, requiring the closure of Township Road 221 (Baker Road).
The south leg of Baker Road – T.R. 221A – will be closed Tuesday through Wednesday, May 24 and 25, for crews to install a culvert at the road’s intersection with state Route 131. Then, on Thursday and Friday, May 26 and 27, North Baker Road – T.R. 221B – will be closed at its intersection with S.R. 131.
While South Baker Road is closed, motorists will be detoured by way of T.R. 238 (Leonard Road and S.R. 134, and while North Baker is closed, motorists will be detoured via County Road 59 (Barker Road) and S.R. 134.
Although S.R. 131 will remain open, traffic may be reduced to one lane and maintained by flaggers intermittently when crews are at work. And the schedule and completion of all work will be contigent upon the weather.
