Culvert Collapses On Ross-28
Chillicothe - Lane restrictions have been imparted on state Route 28 in Ross County this afternoon due to a collapsed culvert.
Earlier today, it was found that a culvert located at the route’s 15.2-mile marker, approximately one mile west of County Road 110 (Maple Grove Road), was ready to give way. Crews from the Ohio Department of Transportation Ross County Highway Maintenance Facility are now working to restore the route with a temporary fix of gravel and cold-patch asphalt, and traffic is being maintained by flaggers.
Crews will return to the site Wednesday, May 6, to undertake a full culvert replacement and pavement repair project. Although it is anticipated that the route will remain open throughout this project and traffic be maintained by flaggers, motorists are advised to exercise additional caution and to be prepared for periods of delay.
In the event of a full closure, motorists will be detoured via U.S. Route 50 at Slate Mills and state Route 41 at Bainbridge.
