Culvert Replacement Project Under Way In State Forest

Chillicothe - A culvert replacement project is under way in Tar Hollow State Forest, where contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation will be replacing 72 culverts along various routes.
Crews from the RC Construction Company of Cutler, Ohio, will be replacing a series of culverts at various locations on Forest Roads 6, 9, 11, 13 and 39, as well as undertaking a wingwall and abutment project on Forest Road 16, located off County Road 222 (Charleston Pike).
Throughout construction, these roads will be subject to periods of closure, and motorists will be detoured locally. At all other times, traffic will be maintained with the aid of flaggers as needed.
RC Construction was awarded a contract in the amount of $279,679, and the scheduled completion date is September 30, 2008.
