Culvert Replacement Projects Continue On Brown-221
Route To Be Closed The Week of June 1
Chillicothe - Crews from the Ohio Department of Transportation Brown County Highway Maintenance Facility continue a series of culvert replacement projects on state Route 221.
During the week of June 1, crews will be replacing two deteriorated culverts located at the 4.82 and the 4.95-mile markers, approximately three miles south of Georgetown. Weather permitting, the project will begin Monday, June 1, and continue through Thursday, June 4, with the route closed to all traffic throughout the week. While the route is closed, motorists will be detoured by way of S.R. 125, U.S. 52 and S.R. 505.
Then during the following week of June 8, crews will continue with daytime-only operations to replace four additional culverts along S.R. 221, between the route’s junction with U.S. 52 near Higginsport and the 7.36-mile marker near Georgetown.
While each project is under way, the route will be closed from approximately 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., with it being open to evening and overnight travel, and facilitation of each culvert replacement will be contingent upon the weather.
