Culvert Replacements Scheduled For Brown-251
Route to be closed two days next week
Chillicothe (Thursday, March 18, 2010) – As part of a series of culvert replacement projects in Brown County, the next phase of work has been scheduled as crews from the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Highway Maintenance Facility undertake a two projects on state Route 251 next week.
Weather permitting, S.R. 251 will be closed Wednesday and Thursday, March 24 and 25, while crews replace two separate structures located at the route’s 1.86 and 2.77-mile markers, respectively.
On Wednesday, crews will close the route just north of County Road 9 (Park Road), or the 1.86-mile marker, to replace a pipe at this location. Then on Thursday, they will replace a pipe located at the 2.77-mile marker, just north of St. Martin and the route’s junction with state Route 123.
The road will be closed to traffic beginning at 8 a.m. and continuing until 4 p.m. each day, and while it is closed, motorists will be detoured via U.S. Route 50 and U.S. Route 68 in Clinton County. The route will be open to evening and overnight travel.
