Denver Road Project Moves Into Next Phase Of Construction

Chillicothe (Monday, August 18, 2014) – With a bridge replacement and realignment project on County Road 47 (Denver Road) in Pike County well under way, contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation are preparing to move into the next phase of construction.

Crew from Foill Incorporated are replacing a deteriorated structure on Denver Road and realigning the route’s intersection with C.R. 46 (Prussia Road). While Denver Road has been closed since late April for bridge work, construction will now require the closure of Prussia Road in order for the contractors to complete the realignment and pavement work.

The closure is scheduled to go into effect Wednesday, August 20, and while it is closed, motorists will continue to be detoured locally and by way of S.R. 220 and U.S. 23 in downtown Waverly.

The bridge that is being replaced is situated over Prussia Run on Denver Road, just west of the route’s intersection with Prussia Road and approximately one-half mile west of S.R. 104. In addition to the bridge replacement, the contractors are realigning 1,700 feet of roadway on Denver Road and 250 feet on Prussia Road.

Foill, Inc. of Waverly, Ohio was awarded a contract for approximately $1.03 million to complete the project, and the project is anticipated to be completed in mid-fall.
