Denver Road Project Moves
Into Next Phase Of Construction
Chillicothe (Monday, August 18, 2014) –
With a bridge replacement and realignment project on County Road 47 (Denver
Road) in Pike County well under way, contractors for the Ohio Department of
Transportation are preparing to move into the next phase of construction.
Crew from Foill Incorporated are
replacing a deteriorated structure on Denver Road and realigning the route’s
intersection with C.R. 46 (Prussia Road). While Denver Road has been closed
since late April for bridge work, construction will now require the closure
of Prussia Road in order for the contractors to complete the realignment and
The closure is scheduled to go into
effect Wednesday, August 20, and while it is closed, motorists will continue
to be detoured locally and by way of S.R. 220 and U.S. 23 in downtown
The bridge that is being replaced is
situated over Prussia Run on Denver Road, just west of the route’s
intersection with Prussia Road and approximately one-half mile west of S.R.
104. In addition to the bridge replacement, the contractors are realigning
1,700 feet of roadway on Denver Road and 250 feet on Prussia Road.
Foill, Inc. of Waverly, Ohio was
awarded a contract for approximately $1.03 million to complete the project,
and the project is anticipated to be completed in mid-fall.
