Denver Road Project Set To Begin This Month
Chillicothe (Wednesday, April 16, 2014) – Construction for a bridge replacement and realignment project will get under way later this month on County Road 47 (Denver Road) in Pike County.
Working with the Pike County Engineer’s Office, the Ohio Department of Transportation has awarded a contract to Foill Incorporated to replace a deteriorated structure on Denver Road and realign the route’s intersection with C.R. 45 (Prussia Road).
The structure to be replaced is situated over Prussia Run, just west of the route’s intersection with Prussia Road and approximately one-half mile west of state Route 104. In addition to the bridge replacement, the contractors will realign 1,700 feet of roadway on Denver Road and 250 feet on Prussia Road.
Construction is scheduled to start Monday, April 28, and during the first phase, Denver Road will be closed, and traffic will be detoured via C.R. 35 (Prosperity Road), S.R. 220 and U.S. 23 in downtown Waverly. While Prussia Road will remain open during the initial phase, it will be closed later in the project for pavement work.
Foill, Inc. of Waverly, Ohio was awarded a contract for approximately $1.03 million to complete the project, and the scheduled completion date is October 31, 2014.
