Biennial STIP Meetings Scheduled
ODOT seeking input on future transportation projects
Chillicothe (Saturday, March 18, 2017) – Are you interested in learning more about proposed projects that may affect the transportation system in your area? If so, the Ohio Department of Transportation – District 9 in partnership with the Ohio Valley Regional Development Commission will hold a series of meetings through early April, as the public review and comment period for the 2018-2021 Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) gets under way.
Identifying maintenance and capacity needs for highways and other transportation-related projects, the STIP is a biennially updated list of transportation improvement projects that are under consideration for some phase of implementation by the department during the next four years.
During the public review and comment period from March 27 to April 7, the draft STIP will be available at locations across the state, and ODOT and its partners in Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs) and Rural Transportation Planning Organizations (RTPOs) will conduct regional open houses for members of the general public to review and learn more about the STIP in their area.

Also joining ODOT - District 9 for its meeting in Lawrence County will be representatives from KYOVA, which serves parts of Lawrence County as its MPO, who will be on hand to discuss and share information regarding efforts in the tri-state area.
