District 9 Crews Continue Afternoon, Evening Patrols
Chillicothe (Monday, January 12, 2015) – Although the threat of additional precipitation following the latest round of winter weather has subsided, crews from the Ohio Department of Transportation – District 9 will remain on duty this evening.
Roadways throughout the area are mostly wet, and with temperatures likely to dip near or below freezing during the early evening, there is the potential for ice to form. As such, crews will continue to patrol routes and treat as needed in an effort to dry the pavement.
Motorists are advised to exercise additional caution and to be prepared for different pavement conditions. Pavement that is wet will be slick, regardless of the temperature, and black ice can appear quickly and without warning. In addition, drivers need to be especially cautious when traveling over bridges and overpasses, where surface temperatures are colder and likely to freeze more quickly.
For statewide road condition information, visit ODOT’s newly launched web site, www.Ohgo.com, which has replaced Buckeye Traffic as the department’s site for traveler information.
ODOT District 9 includes Adams, Brown, Highland, Jackson, Lawrence, Pike, Ross and Scioto counties.
