District 9 Crews Ready For Next Winter Storm
Winter Weather Warning: Four to Six Inches of Snow
Chillicothe (Friday, February 14, 2014 – 4:00 p.m.) – Crews from the Ohio Department of Transportation – District 9 highway maintenance facilities are on the roads this afternoon as another winter storm moves into southern Ohio.
Currently, the National Weather Services is calling for accumulations of four to six inches of snow for most of the District 9 area, which includes Adams, Brown, Highland, Jackson, Lawrence, Pike, Ross and Scioto counties, and the storm is expected to continue until early Saturday morning.
Snowplow operators throughout the district will be working 12-hour shifts to patrol, treat and plow roads as needed, but motorists need to use extreme caution. Along with reducing their speed, drivers need to allow additional travel time and maintain a safe following distance behind other vehicles.
