District 9 Travel Report
 
Through the week ending April 14, 2018: The following traffic advisory includes road construction and major maintenance projects requiring long-term lane restrictions and/or closures along the state and federal highway system in ODOT District 9. For statewide information regarding road conditions affected by weather, construction, maintenance or accidents, visit ODOT on the web at www.Ohgo.com

ADAMS COUNTY
S.R. 770 is reduced to one lane near C.R. 14 (Tranquility Pike), approximately two miles east of S.R. 247 at Seaman, due to a pavement slip. Traffic is being maintained in one lane with temporary signals.
 
C.R. 100 (Old S.R. 32) is closed at three locations between S.R. 41 and S.R. 770 as part of a multi-phase slide repair project. More specifically, the route will be closed between Marble Furnace Road and Inlow Avenue; between Lawshe and Shelby roads; and between Shelby and Big Run roads. The closure will be in effect for up to 90 days, and while Old S.R. 32 is closed, motorists will be detoured via S.R. 41, S.R. 32 and S.R. 770, as well as by local roads. All work is anticipated to be completed in late spring. (#18-0042)
 
BROWN COUNTY
S.R. 763 is closed approximately one mile north of S.R. 41 for a bridge replacement and realignment project. The project site is situated between T.R. 251 (Stringtown Road) and T.R. 350 (Lawwill Road), and the closure will be in effect through early July. While the route is closed, motorists will be detoured via S.R. 41, S.R. 136 and S.R. 125. Construction is anticipated to be completed in mid-summer. (#16-0613)
 
MONDAY, APRIL 23: A resurfacing project is scheduled to start the week of April 23 on S.R. 125, weather permitting. Crews will be paving the route through the village of Georgetown, between T.R. 402 (Gillette Station Road) and U.S. 68. Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in one lane by flaggers. HIGHLAND COUNTY
MONDAY, APRIL 9: Preliminary operations will begin on U.S. 50 for a bridge replacement project between T.R. 122A (Spickard Road) and C.R. 6 (Danville Road) near the community of Fairview. Lane restrictions will go into effect April 16, and traffic will be maintained in one, 10-foot lane with temporary signals. The project is anticipated to be completed in early fall. (#18-0138)
 
Preliminary construction is under way for a resurfacing on S.R. 124 and S.R. 247. Crews will be paving S.R. 124 from Maple Run Drive near the western corporation limit of Hillsboro to the junction with U.S. 50 (West Main Street), as well as from Key Street near the eastern corporation limit of Hillsboro to S.R. 506 in the community of Marshall. Construction also includes S.R. 247 from the Hillsboro corporation limit to S.R. 73. Traffic will be maintained with the use of flaggers as needed, and all work is scheduled to be completed in late summer.  (#17-0573)
 
S.R. 73 at its intersection with C.R. 5 (Prospect Road) for a realignment/widening project on Prospect Road, and Prospect Road is also closed at the intersection. S.R. 73 motorists will be detoured via S.R. 247 and S.R. 785, and county and township road motorists will be detoured locally. The completion date for all work is summer of 2019. (#17-0553)
 
S.R. 73 is reduced to one, 10-foot lane between T.R. 277A (Diven Road) and T.R. 276B (W. Welcome Road) for a bridge replacement project. The project site is located approximately one mile west of Hillsboro, and throughout construction, traffic will be maintained with temporary signals. All work is anticipated to be completed in late summer. (#18-0019)
 
JACKSON COUNTY:
MONDAY, APRIL 9: A pavement and bridge rehabilitation project is scheduled to resume on C.R. 98 (McCarty Lane), between the roundabout at U.S. 35 and S.R. 93 in the city of Jackson. The project is being constructed in stages, and sections of McCarty Lane will be subject to closure. During periods of closure, motorists will be detoured via U.S. 35, S.R. 32 and S.R. 93; access to businesses and private drives will be maintained. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by late summer of 2018. (#17-0475)
 
LAWRENCE COUNTY
Construction has begun for a slide repair project on S.R. 217, between the route’s intersections with S.R. 378. During the initial phase of work, traffic will be maintained by flaggers when crews are at work; however, the route will be reduced to one, 10-foot lane and traffic maintained with temporary signals during most of construction. The project is scheduled to be completed in mid-fall. (#17-0403)
 
PIKE COUNTY
S.R. 772 is reduced to one lane between S.R. 124 and C.R. 18 (Newland Ridge Road) due to a slip. Traffic is being maintained in one lane with temporary signals.
 
An intersection improvement and bridge replacement has begun on S.R. 124 , just west of C.R. 6 (Lapperell Road). Traffic on S.R. 124 will be maintained in one lane with the use of temporary signals, while Lapperell Road will be subject to closure and traffic will be detoured via S.R. 124 and S.R. 41. The project is scheduled to be completed in mid-fall. (#17-0579)
 
ROSS COUNTY
WEDNESDAY, APRIL 11: S.R. 772 will be closed between T.R. 176 (McCann Road) and C.R. 175 (Liberty Hill Road) for a single-day culvert replacement project. The closure will be in effect from approximately 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and while the route is closed, motorists will be detoured via U.S. 23 and S.R. 220.
 
THURSDAY, APRIL 12: S.R. 772 will be closed between T.R. 170 (Chester Hill Road) and T.R. 169B (Baptist Hill Road) for a single-day culvert replacement project. The closure will be in effect from approximately 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and while the route is closed, motorists will be detoured via U.S. 23 and S.R. 220.
 
Lane restrictions on in effect on S.R. 772, between C.R. 184 (Rozelle Creek Road) and T.R. 906 (Streevey Lane) for a culvert replacement project. During the initial phase of work, traffic will be maintained by flaggers when crews are at work; however, traffic will be maintained in one, 10-foot lane with temporary signals through most of the project. The anticipated completion for all work is mid-summer. (#17-0372)
 
Construction has begun for the Industrial Drive extension off Gateway Drive in Chillicothe. The project is to extend the existing industrial park roadway south toward the access road off S.R. 104. As this is new construction and work will be conducted off the existing roadways, there should be little to no impact to traffic. The project is scheduled to be completed in mid-summer. (#17-0558)
 
Clearing is under way for a bridge scour/bank stabilization project at the Paint Creek Bridge on U.S. 23, just south of Chillicothe. As most work will be conducted off the roadway, there should be little to no impact to traffic during the initial phase of construction; however, traffic on U.S. 23 will be maintained in a minimum of one lane in each direction at times when crews are working on the structure. The project is scheduled to be completed by mid-summer. (#18-0032)
 
SCIOTO COUNTY
In advance of a bridge replacement project, S.R. 104 will be subject to single-lane restrictions between C.R. 32 (Big Bear Creek Road) and the Pike County line for clearing and grubbing, and traffic will be maintained by flaggers when crews are at work. Major construction is not anticipated to begin until mid-April; at which time, the route will be reduced to one lane, and traffic will be maintained with temporary signals. (#18-0033)
 
Preliminary work for a resurfacing project on U.S. 52 in Portsmouth and New Boston has begun. Crews will be paving the westbound lanes of the route from the city’s eastern corporation limit to U.S. 23, and traffic will be maintained in one lane and by flaggers as needed. The project is scheduled to be completed by mid-fall. (#17-0559)

APRIL 9 – MAY 26, 2018
  • S.R. 335 will be reduced to one lane between T.R. 234 (Shumway Hollow Road) and C.R. 12 (Bennett Schoolhouse Road) for striping and conduit installation. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers when crews are at work, from approximately 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
THRU APRIL 2018
  • C.R. 28 (Lucasville-Minford Road) will be reduced to one lane between T.R. 381 (Flowers Ison Road) and T.R. 1570 (Rase’s Mountain Drive) for bridge construction. Traffic will be maintained with flaggers when crews are at work, from approximately 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

  • C.R. 29 (Blue Run Road) will be subject to intermittent, single-lane restrictions at T.R. 381 (Flowers Ison Road) for bridge construction. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers when crew are at work, from approximately 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

  • 31 (Swauger Valley Road) will be subject to intermittent, single-lane restrictions between T.R. 234 (Shumway Hollow Road) and South Street in Minford for bridge construction. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers when crew are at work, from approximately 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
THRU APRIL 2018
  • C.R. 503 (Ohio River Road) will be subject to single-lane restrictions between S.R. 140/Webster Street and C.R. 251 (Hastings Hill Road) for bridge construction. Traffic will be maintained in one lane by flaggers as needed when crews are at work.
THRU APRIL 2018
  • S.R. 140 will be subject to intermittent, single-lane restrictions between C.R. 503 (Ohio River Road) and T.R. 248 (Highland Bend Road) for bridge construction. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers when crews are at work, from approximately 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
THRU APRIL 2018
  • U.S. 23 South will be reduced to one lane between S.R. 728/348 and C.R. 55 (Fairground Road) for culvert fill work. Southbound traffic will be maintained in one lane during daytime working hours, from approximately 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; northbound traffic should not be affected by this restriction.
THRU APRIL 2018
  • U.S. 52 will be subject to single-lane restrictions between the S.R. 140 and the C.R. 550/Wheelersburg exits for bridge construction and lighting installation. The single-lane restrictions will be in effect Saturdays through Thursdays, with restrictions lifted in both directions on Fridays. A reduced speed limit is also in effect.
THRU MAY 2018
  • S.R. 335 is reduced to one lane between C.R. 31 (Swauger Valley Road) and C.R. 246 (Stout Hollow Road) for bridge construction. Traffic is being maintained in one, 11-foot lane with temporary signals.
THRU JULY 2018
  • North Pershing Avenue in the city of Portsmouth has been closed for reconstruction and relocation. Traffic is being detoured via Marne Avenue.
THRU DECEMBER 2018
  • C.R. 246 (Stout Hollow Road) is closed at its junction with C.R. 243 (Dutch Ridge Road) for excavation and bridge construction. The closure will be in effect throughout the duration of the project.
THRU DECEMBER 2018
  • T.R. 234 (Shumway Hollow Road) is closed for relocation and interchange construction. The closure will be in effect throughout the duration of the project.
THRU DECEMBER 2018
  • Blasting operations are under way, and although there will be no affect to traffic during operations, residents in the general project area may experience sound or ground vibrations from the blasting, which is expected to occur weekdays during the noon hour and again in late afternoon or early evening. Blasting will continue intermittently throughout the duration of the project.
