District 9 Travel Report
 
Through the week ending August 3, 2019: The following traffic advisory includes road construction and major maintenance projects requiring long-term lane restrictions and/or closures along the state and federal highway system in ODOT District 9. For statewide information regarding road conditions affected by weather, construction, maintenance or accidents, visit ODOT on the web at www.Ohgo.com

DISTRICTWIDE
A districtwide culvert repair project is under way on various routes, including locations at S.R. 32 in Adams County; S.R. 32 and U.S. 68 in Brown County; S.R. 247 in Highland County; S.R. 772 in Pike County; U.S. 35 and S.R. 138 in Ross County; and S.R. 239 in Scioto County. Throughout construction, there should be little to no impact to motorists; however, traffic will be maintained in one lane by flaggers or barrels as needed when crews are at work. The entire project is scheduled to be completed in Summer 2019. (#18-0507)
 
ADAMS COUNTY
JULY 29-AUGUST 2: S.R. 781 will be closed for a bridge deck repair. The project site is located between T.R. 143 (Monroe Road) and S.R. 348, and while the route is closed, motorists will be detoured via S.R. 348, S.R. 125 and S.R. 41. All work should be completed the close of the business day Friday, August 2. (#18-0501)
 
U.S. 52 will be closed for a bridge replacement project. The project site is located between T.R. 29 (brush Creek Road) and C.R. 18 (Blue Creek Road), just west of the village of Rome, and the closure will be in effect for up to 90 days. While the route is closed, motorists will be detoured via S.R. 125 and S.R. 247. All work is scheduled to be completed in mid-fall. (#19-0284)
 
S.R. 41 is reduced to one lane between C.R. 6 (Fawcett Road) and T.R. 91 (Murphin Ridge Road), south of S.R. 32, for a bridge replacement project. Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained with temporary signals, and all work is anticipated to be completed in mid-fall. (#19-4013)
 
A slide repair project has begun on S.R. 41, between T.R. 91 (Murphin Ridge Road) and T.R. 90 (Hull Road), south of S.R. 781. Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in one, 10-foot lane with temporary signals, and all work is scheduled to be completed by mid-fall. (#19-0329)
 
A resurfacing project is under way on S.R. 136. Crews will be paving the route from its junction with U.S. 52 at Manchester to S.R. 41, and throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in one lane by flaggers. All work is anticipated to be completed by late summer. (#18-0533)
 
S.R. 73 is closed in the south/eastbound direction between S.R. 32 and C.R. 198 (Portsmouth Road) for a widening project between S.R. 32 and C.R. 18 (Jaybird Road). South or eastbound motorists will be detoured via S.R. 32 and C.R. 198 (Portsmouth Road). While southbound traffic will be detoured, one lane of traffic will be maintained in the north/westbound direction. In addition, Portsmouth Road will be closed to all westbound traffic during the first phase of construction, and the entire project is anticipated to be completed in mid to late fall. (#19-0136)
 
BROWN COUNTY
JULY 29-AUGUST 7: S.R. 125 will be closed between Fite Avenue at Hamersville and S.R. 505 for a dual culvert replacement project. The closure will go into effect at 8 a.m. Monday, July 29, and remain in effect until 4 p.m. Wednesday, August 7, or until all work is completed. While the route is closed, motorists will be detoured via U.S. 68 and S.R. 774. (Note: The route will be reopened to traffic prior to the start of the Ohio Valley Antique Machinery Show beginning August 8.)
 
A resurfacing project is under way on U.S. 52. Crews will be paving the route between U.S. 62 in Aberdeen to the Adams County, and throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in one lane by flaggers. All work is anticipated to be completed by late summer. (#18-0533)
 
Operations have begun for a bridge replacement project on S.R. 125 at Georgetown. The bridge is located between Old Infirmary Road and Hillcrest Drive, immediately west of the village, and throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in a minimum of one, 10-foot lane in each direction. The entire project is scheduled to be completed in the fall of 2020. (#19-0138)
 
HIGHLAND COUNTY
AUGUST 5-16: S.R. 41 will be closed for a two-week culvert replacement project. The project site is located between M.R. 178 (Sawmill Road) and T.R. 346 (Pin Hook Road), just north of the community of Sinking Spring, and while the route is closed, motorists will be detoured via S.R. 73 and S.R. 124.
 
POSTPONED/TBD: S.R. 785 will be closed during daytime business hours between S.R. 247 and Parr Road for a slide repair project. The route will be closed Monday through Wednesday from approximately 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day, with it open to evening and overnight travel. Motorists will be detoured via S.R. 247 and S.R. 73 during periods of closure.
 
U.S. 50 is closed between North Beach and Worley Mill roads, midway between the communities of Boston and Rainsboro, for a bridge replacement project. The route will be closed for up to 45 days, and while it is closed, motorists will be detoured via S.R. 124, S.R. 506 and S.R. 753. All work is scheduled to be completed by late summer. (#18-0559)
 
Construction is under way for a roadway improvement project on T.R. 225B (Tolle Road), where crews are widening the shoulder, repairing pavement and drainage and correcting curve alignment  between U.S. 50 and S.R. 138. The route will be closed for up to 60 days, and while the route is closed, traffic will be detoured by way of S.R. 138, C.R. 7 and U.S. 50. All work is scheduled to be completed in the fall. (#19-0181)
 
A resurfacing project is nearing completion on S.R. 753, from U.S. 50 at Rainsboro to C.R. 25 (Paint Creek Road). Crews will also be paving S.R. 138, from U.S. 62 in Hillsboro to T.R. 288 (Rittenhouse Road). Traffic will be maintained on both routes with the use of flaggers, and the project is scheduled to be completed in August. (#18-0610)
 
Construction for a realignment/widening project on C.R. 5 (Prospect Road), between S.R. 73 and S.R. 124, continues and Prospect Road is closed between T.R. 192 (Main Road) and T.R. 264 (Herbert Road). Traffic will be detoured by way of T.R. 192 (Main Road). Other local roadways should not be affected during this phase of construction, and all work is anticipated to be completed in late summer. (#17-0553)
 
JACKSON COUNTY:
S.R. 124 is closed between C.R. 39 (Mulga Road) and T.R. 174 (Tower Ridge Road), just west of the Jackson-Vinton County line, for a dual bridge replacement project. The closure will be in effect for up to 45 days. While the route is closed, motorists will be detoured via S.R. 32 and S.R. 160 in Vinton County. (#19-0314)
 
Operations for a resurfacing project on U.S. 35 from just west of the S.R. 93 interchange to the S.R. 327 intersection have resumed for final paving work. Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in a minimum of one lane in each direction, and all work should be completed by mid-summer. (#18-0289)
 
LAWRENCE COUNTY
JULY 29-AUGUST 2: S.R. 775 will be closed between C.R. 70 (La Belle-Bartramsville Road) and C.R. 408 (Old SR 775) for a weeklong culvert replacement. The closure will go into effect at 8 a.m. Monday, July 29, and continue through the end of the work day, or until approximately 4 p.m. Friday, August 2. While the route is closed, motorists will be detoured via S.R. 7, S.R. 243, S.R. 378 and S.R. 217.
A sign replacement project is under way on U.S. 52, between the Scioto County line and the Ashland, Ky., twin bridges near Coal Grove. The route will be subject to lane restrictions at various locations when crews are at work; however, traffic impacts should be minimal. The project is scheduled to be completed in mid-summer. Construction has begun for a bridge replacement on S.R. 217, just east of S.R. 378. The project site is situated between C.R. 64 (Venisonham-Camp Branch Road) and T.R. 79 (Ridge Baptist Church Road), and throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in one, 10-foot lane with temporary signals. All work is scheduled to be completed in mid-fall. (#19-0219)
A resurfacing and bridge repair project continues on S.R. 7 and S.R. 527 between C.R. 18 (Solida Road) and the junction with Third Avenue at Chesapeake. Traffic will be maintained in a minimum of one, 12-foot lane in either direction, and a variable speed limit will be in effect during construction. All work is anticipated to be completed in late summer. (#18-0584)  
 
A slide repair project is under way on S.R. 7 near C.R. 3 (Old SR 7). The route is open to two, 11-foot lanes; however, traffic has been shifted, and motorists are reminded of the need for additional caution in the work zone. The project is scheduled to be completed by mid-summer. (#19-0092)
 
PIKE COUNTY
A county road pavement marking project is under way, and crews will be upgrading markings at various locations on C.R. 58 (Shyville Road), C.R. 59 (Big Run Road), C.R. 68 (Dutch Run Road) and C.R. 84 (Wakefield Mound Road). Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in one lane by flaggers, temporary signals, message boards and/or barrels as needed when crews are at work. The entire project is scheduled to be completed in mid-summer. (#18-0526)
 
A resurfacing project is under way on S.R. 104 and S.R. 335. Crews will be paving S.R. 104 between Forrest Hills Drive and U.S. 23 at Waverly, as well as S.R. 335 from the Scioto County line through the village of Beaver and between the intersections of T.R. 528 (Dutch Hollow Road). Construction also includes paving the parking lots at Ross Lake, Pike Forest and Scioto Trail state parks. Traffic will be maintained with the use of flaggers when crews are at work, and the project is scheduled to be completed by late summer. (#18-0589)
 
A bridge replacement project has begun on T.R. 655 (Good Manor Road), immediately west of U.S. 23. Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in one lane with temporary traffic signals, and the entire project is scheduled to be completed by late summer. (#18-0478)
 
S.R. 104 may be subject to intermittent restrictions in the Lake White area due to heavy truck traffic entering and exiting the highway as part of a project by ODNR. Although the route will be open to two lanes of traffic, motorists are advised of the need for additional caution.
 
ROSS COUNTY
As part of a safety improvement project on Western Avenue in Chillicothe, lane restrictions will be in effect between University Drive and Plyley's Lane for sidewalk construction. Bi-directional traffic will be maintained in one, 10-foot lane in each direction, with two-way traffic shifted to the eastbound lanes. Although the multi-phase project will extend through the 2020 construction season, the first phase is scheduled to be completed by mid-September. (#19-0323)
 
An intersection improvement project is under way on S.R. 159 at T.R. 236 (Delano Road), north of Chillicothe. Crews are widening the pavement and installing turn lanes, as well as upgrading the signal and extending a culvert. Traffic is being maintained on both routes with the use of flaggers as needed, and construction is scheduled to be completed in late summer. (#18-0617)
 
A resurfacing project is under way on U.S. 35, between the C.R. 550 and the S.R. 159/Bridge Street interchanges. Traffic will be maintained in a minimum of one lane in each direction, and a variable speed limit will be in effect. The project is scheduled to be completed in late summer. (#18-0495)
 
S.R. 28 is closed for a culvert replacement project. The project site is situated between T.R. 89 (Halley Road) and C.R. 93 (Porter Hollow Road), and the closure will be in effect for up to 60 days. Motorists will be detoured by way of U.S. 50 and S.R. 41 throughout construction, and all work is scheduled to be completed by late summer. (#19-0127)
 
Construction continues for a bridge replacement project on C.R. 213 (West Junction Road), immediately west of the Ross-Vinton County line, and the route will be closed through early fall of 2019. Motorists will be detoured C.R. 207 (Vigo Road), U.S. 35, C.R. 271 (Elam Road) and C.R. 27 (Bronx Corners Road). (#18-4023)
 
SCIOTO COUNTY
AUGUST 12-31: S.R. 823 will be subject to intermittent single-lane restrictions near the U.S. 52 interchange and the Lucasville-Minford Road interchange for pavement work. The route will be reduced to one, 12-foot lane in the northbound direction during daytime, working hours, with restrictions lifted for evening and overnight travel.
 
A culvert replacement project is under way in Shawnee State Forest, where crews are replacing culverts and repairing pavement at multiple locations on FR 1, FR 6 and FR 14. Traffic will be maintained in one lane with the use of flaggers or temporary signals; however, short-term temporary closures of the roadways may be in effect during hours of operation. All work is anticipated to be completed in mid-summer. (#19-1015)
