District 9 Travel Report
Through the week ending January 19, 2019: The following traffic advisory includes road
construction and major maintenance projects requiring long-term lane
restrictions and/or closures along the state and federal highway system
in ODOT District 9. For statewide information regarding road conditions
affected by weather, construction, maintenance or accidents, visit ODOT

districtwide culvert repair project will be under way on various routes,
including locations at S.R. 32 in Adams County; S.R. 32 and U.S. 68 in Brown
County; S.R. 247 in Highland County; S.R. 772 in Pike County; U.S. 35 and
S.R. 138 in Ross County; and S.R. 239 in Scioto County. Throughout
construction, there should be little to no impact to motorists; however,
traffic will be maintained in one lane by flaggers or barrels as needed when
crews are at work. The entire project is scheduled to be completed in Summer
WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 16: S.R. 781 will be closed between T.R. 80143
(Monteray Valley Drive) and T.R. 241 (John Fish Road), 3.5 miles east of S.R.
41, for a single-day culvert replacement. The closure will be in effect from
approximately 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. While the route is closed, motorists will
be detoured via S.R. 348, S.R. 125 and S.R. 41.
WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 23: S.R. 73 will be subject to single-lane restrictions between S.R. 32 and C.R. 18 (Jaybird Road) for tree removal and clearing. Crews will be working within the right of way along the route during daytime, business hours as weather permits. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers as needed; however, there should be little impact to motorists. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by March 31. (#18-1061)
are no closures or planned significant lane restrictions on the state highway
system due to construction or maintenance activities. Crews will perform
general maintenance operations, including snow and ice control, as dictated
by the weather, and traffic will be maintained accordingly.
A realignment/widening project on C.R. 5 (Prospect Road),
between S.R. 73 and S.R. 124, has been suspended for the winter months, and
the route is open to traffic. Restrictions on other affected roadways have
been lifted, as well. Crews will return to the site in the spring to complete
the project, and all work is anticipated to be completed in the summer of
S.R. 93 is closed at Coalton for
a slide repair project. The project site is situated between Exline and
Church streets, and the closure will be in effect for up to 60 days.
Thru-traffic motorists will be detoured via U.S. 35, S.R. 32 and S.R. 327. A
local detour will also be designated during construction. (#18-0473)
U.S. 35 West is reduced to one,
11-foot lane for a slide repair and culvert rehabilitation project. Traffic
will be maintained in one lane in the westbound direction throughout
construction, and eastbound traffic should not be affect by this restriction.
As a part of this project, C.R. 77 (Centerfield Road) will be closed at its west
(north) junction with U.S. 35, and motorists will be detoured via the east or
south leg intersection with U.S. 35. The entire project is scheduled to be
completed in the spring of 2019. (#18-0440)
Operations for a resurfacing
project on U.S. 35 from just west of
the S.R. 93 interchange to the S.R. 327 intersection have been suspended for the season, and restrictions
have been lifted. Crews will return to the site in the spring to complete
final paving work. (#18-0289)
JANUARY 14-24: S.R. 217 will be subject to daytime
closures January 14-17 and January 22-24 for a series of culvert replacement
projects. The route will be closed at sites between S.R. 218 and S.R. 7
during daytime, working hours, from approximately 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.
The route will be open to evening, overnight and weekend travel. During
periods of closure, motorists will be detoured via S.R. 218, S.R. 553 and
S.R. 7 in Gallia County.
18 (Solida Road) has been reopened between the U.S. 52 eastbound interchange
ramps and Collins Avenue in South Point following an intersection improvement
project that included construction of a roundabout on Solida Road. Crews will
have some finishing work to complete, and motorists are reminded to use
additional caution in the new traffic movement. (#18N023)
S.R. 124 is reduced to one lane just west of C.R. 6 (Lapperell Road) as part of an intersection
improvement and bridge replacement project. Traffic is being maintained in
one, 11-foot lane with the use of temporary signals, and the entire project
is scheduled to be completed in Spring 2019. (#17-0579)
has begun for a bridge replacement project on C.R. 213 (West Junction Road),
immediately west of the Ross-Vinton County line. West Junction Road is
already closed, and the route will remain closed through early fall of 2019.
Motorists will be detoured C.R. 207 (Vigo Road), U.S. 35, C.R. 271 (Elam
Road) and C.R. 27 (Bronx Corners Road). (#18-4023)
A raised pavement marker (RPM)
installation project is under way on various county roadways, including C.R.
550 (Pleasant Valley Road), C.R. 213A (Lancaster Road), C.R. 184 (Rozelle
Creek Road), C.R. 167 (Blain Highway), C.R. 161/156 (Black Run Road) and C.R.
127 (Egypt Pike). Throughout
construction, traffic will be maintained in one lane by flaggers, temporary
signals and/or arrow boards when crews are at work. Crews will
work as weather permits, and the entire project is scheduled to be completed in Spring 2019. (#18-0458)
WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 23: S.R. 823 will be subject to single-lane restrictions in both the north and
southbound direction, between U.S. 23 and U.S. 52, for routine maintenance
operations. The route will be reduced to one, 12-foot lane in either direction
while PGG crews sweep, clear debris and assess culverts in a mobile operation within
the entire corridor. Motorists are reminded to use additional caution within
the work zone.

the winter months. Crews will return to the site in early spring to complete
