District 9 Crews Begin Patrolling, Treating State Highways
Chillicothe (Thursday, February 25, 6:25 a.m.) - Crews from the Ohio Department of Transportation - District 9 county maintenance facilities have been dispatched this morning to treat for snow and ice.
Pavement conditions on priority routes are lightly to partly snow, with more snow on second and third-priority routes that are likely to be mostly snow covered.
Roadways are slick, and motorists are reminded to exercise additional caution, especially when traveling over bridges and overpasses, which are likely to freeze more quickly than surface pavement and are susceptible to ice.
Crews will continue their efforts to clear the state highway system throughout this winter storm; however, motorists need to remember that conditions can change from minute to minute and from mile to mile.
Motorists should allow additional travel time, provide a safe following distance behind other vehicles, and reduce their speed significantly. Remember: Ice and Snow...Take it Slow!
