District Crews Take To Highways For Ice Control
Chillicothe (Tuesday, February 01, 2011 - 6:10 a.m.) – Crews from the Ohio Department of Transportation - District 9 highway maintenance facilities are patrolling and treating routes as needed this morning for possible ice.
Pavement conditions are clear and wet; however, routes may be slick and ice could form or be present on cold spots and on bridges and overpasses.
Crews will be patrolling and treating as needed throughout the morning; however, motorists are reminded of the need for additional caution and to reduce their speed when driving during inclement weather. They are also reminded to pay heed to other vehicles on the roads by maintaining a safe following distance, particularly when traveling behind snowplow trucks.
District 9 includes Adams, Brown, Highland, Jackson, Lawrence, Pike, Ross and Scioto counties.
