Guardrail Project Gets Started On Highland County Roadways
Chillicothe (Tuesday, August 13, 2013) - A countywide guardrail project is under way in Highland County as contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation begin operations today, August 13, on Township Road 157 (Forsythe Road).
Working on behalf of ODOT and the Highland County Engineer’s Office, crews from the M.P. Dory Company will be installing and upgrading more than 40 miles of guardrail along sections of County Road 83 (Overman Road), T.R. 156 (Shaw Baker Road), T.R. 157 (Forsythe Road), T.R. 169 (Walker Road), T.R. 186 Burgess Road), T.R. 194 (Deadfall Road), T.R. 195 (Chestnut and Spruance roads), T.R. 225 (Holladay Road), T.R. 228 (Berrysville Road), T.R. 235 (Smart Road), T.R. 250 (Skeen Road), T.R. 256 (Fort Hill Road), T.R. 257 (Washburn Road), T.R. 259 (Ferneau Road) and T.R. 273 (Lilly and Clear Creek roads).
The contractors will be working as weather permits, and throughout the project, traffic will be maintained with the use of flaggers and/or temporary signals when crews are at work. Motorists are advised of the need for additional caution when traveling through the work zones.
M.P. Dory was awarded a contract in the amount of $341,484, and the entire project is scheduled to be completed in early fall.
