Comment Period Open For Highland County Culvert Replacement
HIG-62-18.18 (PID: 100009) – It is proposed to replace the structure located on U.S. 62 at the 18.18-mile marker, just south of Township Road 384A (Surber Lane) and approximately one mile north of Hillsboro. The
existing structure is a single-span, reinforced concrete slab with concrete abutments and wingwalls on
spread footings. The new structure will be a precast, reinforced concrete four-sided box culvert with
reinforced concrete wingwalls on spread footings.
The project will require 0.646 acres of permanent right of way; however, no homes or businesses will be removed as a result of the project. A contract is anticipated to be awarded in the spring of 2017, and closure of the roadway may be necessary to complete the project.
