Highland County Routes To Be Resurfaced
Construction Set To Begin On S.R. 28, 138
Chillicothe (Friday, April 24, 2015) – Contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation – District 9 have begun sign installation and preliminary operations in preparation for a pair of resurfacing projects in Highland County.
Crews from Cox Paving, LLC will be resurfacing state Route 28 from the Clinton County line near New Vienna to the eastern corporation limit of Leesburg, as well as rehabilitating four bridges within the work zone. In addition, Cox Paving will be resurfacing S.R. 138 from Township Road 288 (Rittenhouse Road) to S.R. 753 (Seventh Street) in the village of Greenfield.
With pavement and bridge repairs beginning next week, motorists will encounter lane restrictions on either route as traffic will be reduced to one lane and maintained by flaggers when crews are at work during daytime, business hours. ODOT reminds motorists of the need for additional caution when traveling through these and other work zones.
Cox Paving, of Leesburg, was awarded separate contracts in the amount of approximately $1.135 million and $1.31 million to resurface S.R. 28 and S.R. 138, respectively, and all work is anticipated to be completed in early fall.
