Highland Crews Schedule Culvert Replacement Projects
Closures at Beltz Road, S.R. 73 on tap this week and next
Chillicothe (Thursday, April 27, 2017) – Ohio Department of Transportation maintenance crews will undertake a pair of culvert replacement projects this week and next, requiring closure of two roadways in Highland County
On Friday, April 28, crews will close Township Road 182 (Beltz Road) at its junction with S.R. 286 to replace a deteriorated pipe that is situated under the township road at the routes’ intersection. The project site is situated immediately off S.R. 286, between the state highway and the road’s junction with T.R. 197 (Waits Road).
Beltz Road will be closed from approximately 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and while it is closed, motorists may detour by way of County Road 39 (Greenbush Road), S.R. 134 and S.R. 286. Although S.R. 286 will remain open, traffic may be reduced to one lane and maintained by flaggers intermittently when crews are at work.
The county maintenance crews will follow this project with a two-day culvert replacement on S.R. 73, closing the route at the 14.77-mile marker on Tuesday and Wednesday, May 2 and 3. The project site is located between T.R. 270 (Ballentine Road) and C.R. 5 (Prospect Road), approximately four miles east of Hillsboro.
The closure will go into effect at approximately 8 a.m. Tuesday and continue through 4 p.m. Wednesday, and while S.R. 73 is closed, motorists will be detoured via S.R. 247 and S.R. 785.
