Highland County’s S.R. 134 To Be Paved
Contractors Set To Begin Work Next Week
Chillicothe - A minor rehabilitation project is slated to begin on state Route 134 next week in Highland County.
According to Ohio Department of Transportation - District 9 Deputy Director James Brushart, crews from Miller-Mason Paving are scheduled to begin site preparation and paving operations on Thursday, August 13.
“Miller-Mason’s crews are set to begin work on Highland-134, where they will be resurfacing approximately seven miles of roadway. Like all of our projects, this one is not only necessary for the safety of the traveling public, it is also important for the preservation of the state’s infrastructure and the overall transportation system,” said Brushart.
The contractors will be paving the route between its junction with state Route 138 and County Road 39 at Buford to the 12.28-mile marker at Township Road 109A (Orebaugh Road), approximately two miles south of U.S. 50. Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in one lane with the use of flaggers when crews are at work.
The Miller-Mason Company of Hillsboro, Ohio, was awarded a contract in the amount of $882,889 to resurface state Route 134, and the project has a scheduled completion date of October 31, 2009.
