Intersection Improvement Set To Begin In Georgetown
S.R. 125, Home Street Reconstruction To Start Monday
Chillicothe (Friday, May 12, 2017) – An intersection improvement project is about the begin in the village of Georgetown, with contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation getting started next week.
Crews from the John R. Jurgensen Company will be reconstructing a 0.14-mile section of S.R. 125 and realigning its intersection with Home Street. The project includes full-depth pavement repairs, curb and gutter reconstruction, resurfacing and drainage, as well as new sidewalks, curb ramps, traffic controls, lighting and signalization.
Construction is scheduled to begin Monday, May 15, and throughout the project, Home Street will be closed. The closure will be in effect for up to 45, and while it is closed, traffic will be detoured locally via Marshall and Fulton avenues. S.R. 125 traffic will be maintained in two lanes with the use of the existing or temporary signals and/or flaggers.
The John R. Jurgensen Company of Cincinnati was awarded a contract for $542,671 to complete the project, and all work is anticipated to be completed in late summer.
The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by ODOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 11, 2015, and executed by FHWA and ODOT.
