Jackson-139 Bridge Replacement Wraps Up
Route Reopened To Traffic One Week Ahead Of Schedule
Chillicothe (Friday, July 24, 2015) – State Route 139 in Jackson County is now open to traffic following a bridge replacement project at the route’s 4.40-mile marker.
Crews from BUDS, Inc. closed S.R. 139 in mid-June in order to replace a bridge over a tributary of Holland Fork. The project site is situated between County Road 52 (Lenhart Road) and Township Road 319 (Albert Swartz Road), and construction included replacing the single-span structure with a 14x4-foot, four-sided precast box culvert.
Although the closure was scheduled to be in effect through the end of July, major operations have been completed, and the route has been reopened to traffic, nearly one week ahead of schedule.
BUDS, Inc. was awarded a contract for approximately $309,101, and although crews may have some minor finishing work to complete, there should be little to no impact to traffic during the remainder of construction.
