Jackson-279 Culvert Replacement On Tap This Month
Route to be closed week of June 20
Chillicothe (Tuesday, June 7, 2016) – Crews from the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Jackson County Highway Maintenance Facility will undertake a culvert replacement project on state Route 279 later this month, requiring a weeklong closure of the route.
During the week of June 20, S.R. 279 will be closed at the 8.1-mile marker, between County Road 16 (Dan T. Davis Road) and Township Road 332 (Jefferson Furnace Road), for maintenance forces replace a deteriorated culvert. The project site is located three miles west of Oak Hill.
The closure will go into effect at approximately 8 a.m. on Monday, June 20, and it will remain in place until 4 p.m. Friday, June 24, or until all work is completed. While the route is closed, motorists will be detoured via S.R. 139, S.R. 32 and S.R. 93.
