Jackson-279 Culvert Project On Hold
Chillicothe - Due to inclement weather, a series of culvert replacement projects on state Route 279 in Jackson County has been postponed until next week.
Crews from the Ohio Department of Transportation Jackson County Highway Maintenance Facility are replacing a series of culverts situated between the 3.00-mile marker near County Road 17 (Monroe Hollow Road) and the 7.00-mile marker at County Road 11 (Four Mile Road), west of Oak Hill.
The project has been suspended through the remainder of this week; however, crews are scheduled to return to the site Monday, June 8, weather permitting.
When crews are at work, the route will be closed at various locations between Monroe Hollow and Four Mile roads from approximately 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day, with it being open to evening and overnight travel. During periods of closure, motorists will be detoured by way of S.R. 139, S.R. 32, U.S. 35 and S.R. 93.
